Moulana Waqas Khawaja Moulana Waqas Khawaja is a graduate from prestigious Islamic institutes in North America and Europe. He obtained his certification of Hifz al-Quran at Darul-Uloom Al-Madania, Buffalo N.Y. He enrolled in the Alim Program upon becoming a Hafiz in Buffalo. For his last year of the Alim Program, Moulana Waqas received admission to attend the prominent Islamic institute, Darul-Uloom Al-Arabiyya Al-Islamiyyah in Bury, England. In 2005, he received his Alim Certification and returned to Canada to serve the Muslim community of Toronto. Moulana Waqas has a great deal of experience in teaching environments which has allowed him to become qualified for the position of a hifz teacher. For the past year, he has been involved with the Islamic Foundation of Toronto, Pickering Islamic Centre and Um al-Qura Islamic school. He has served as Hifz teacher for a full-time hifz programme and Islamic studies instructor at these institutes. With his past experiences and the requests of the Muslim community, he has decided to pursue the position of full time Hifz teacher at Masjid Zakariya.
